THE OCEAN

After 5 years of touring on Pelagial, the band started recording their 8th studio album in February 2018, split into two volumes to be separately released in 2018 and 2020 respectively, titled Phanerozoic. The Phanerozoic eon succeeded the Precambrian supereon, spanning a 500 million-year period leading to the present day, and it has witnessed the evolution and diversification of plant and animal life on Earth, and the partial destruction of it during 5 mass extinction events. Conceptually and musically, The Ocean‘s Phanerozoic is the missing link between the albums Precambrian and Heliocentric / Anthropocentric.

Carving their distinctly personal and unique path into the dark matter that DEATHSPELL OMEGA, DODECAHEDRON, and ULSECT have ventured to explore, NIGHTMARER are now set to release one of the darkest and crushing albums of 2018.

FERN is distance. FERN is a feeling we all know: a journey through emptiness undertaken to face our innermost fears. The effort to find a dawning light in the darkest corners of our memories.
Melancholic, dark, unprettified and hypnotic. FERN explores the worlds of digital and analogue spheres. The music orbits the tangible past and the unprecedented future. All while combining distinctive rhythm with vivid singing.
LIKE LOVERS

In 2015 multi-instrumentalist, virtuoso and soulmate Jan Kerscher asked me to help him out on a short and fun tour in Germany. The minimalistic, delicate playing with dynamics as well as several singing endeavours were most welcome in comparison to the usual daily grind.
WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH
